A Formal Project Management process template is now shipped as part of Rational Team Concert. It includes new work item types, features, and views in the template. The Formal Project Management template includes a single timeline with a release and backlog that is divided in more traditional project phases.

Work item types supported in the Formal Project Management template

Take a snapshot of a plan to record the current status of the plan and the work items in the plan. Snapshots provide a better view on how plans evolve over time. You can also compare snapshots. To view the snapshot tab, you must add "?planning=v3" after the project name string in the URL. For example, if the URL is https://servername:port/rtc/web/projects/projectarea#action..., the modified URL will look like https://servername:port/rtc/web/projects/projectarea?planning=v3#action...

Every project has some known and unexpected risks. As a project manager, you can define risks, add strategies, and create work items to take action against risks. The risks work items are available only if you use the Formal Project Management process template.

You can enter the number of hours per day that you spend on a work item in the Work Item editor. You might have performed multiple tasks such as coding, testing, and documentation for a work item. These tasks are called time codes. You can associate the workitem with multiple time codes. The Time Tracking tab is available only if you use the Formal Project Management process template.

RTC M4 - Planning 소식
Built on JDojo
The core of the Agile Planning component is now being written using JDojo. This allows faster evolution of the codebase while increasing the confidence in the quality of the shipped JavaScript code.
Additionally, Agile Planning uses it's new, completely rewritten ScriptEngine, which offers a new and simple programming model to share code between the Eclipse and Web clients.
Plans show Links
References can now be displayed in plans. This allows you to quickly identify links to and from the items on your plan. Configure references as any other column and update your views.
Add Work Items From Template
You can now instantiate work item templates from within a plan. The attribute variable values of the new work items are set to match those of the plan, and the work items are automatically added to the plan.
Find Work Items Similar to Selected Text
We have added the ability to query against the selected text in rich text pages. While in edit mode, you can select the text to query for.
